The Advantage Pac is great for inventory control and makes for a rapid process. The concise packaging, with drug descriptions written on the packaging is great. The packaging requires less storage space which makes everything more accessible and manageable on the med cart. When clients are away from the facility, we can just give them the strip. The medication and administration times are printed right on the packaging, making it very easy for family members to keep track of medication. There is no longer a need to provide large bulking medication blister packs. The Advantage Pac system has the ability to reduce medication errors because every package contains the clients name, the medication description, the dosage and the time of administration. It has reduced our med pass times, we no longer sort through a variety of blister packs and pop out individual pills to supply the medication, we just verify the information with the MAR and open the package. The Advantage Pac system helps with medication training for clients. The see-through packaging allows you to see which medications are in the package and compare that to the description on the back and the MAR. The see-through packaging actually serves as an education tool for nurses. Are patients and or family members happier with the Advantage Pac? The Advantage Pac system has been well received by family members of our clients. The Advantage Pac makes it much easier for family members to administer medications when clients are away from the facility on a leave of absence.
