CMS has made their final ruling: “For short-cycle dispensing under Part D for residents in long-term care facilities, CMS will require dispensing of brand-name medications in increments of 14 days or less effective 1/1/13”

CMS made this change to help reduce waste and cost. Rx Advantage has been dispensing all medications (brand and generic) in increments of 7 days or less for all of our nursing homes and their residents for the past 10 years. In addition, we have started dispensing in increments of 3 & 4 days, virtually eliminating waste and reducing cost for your facility.
